Livin’ Umbria
Relais Villa Monte Solare offers the ideal retreat to get away from the stress of the city, but also a strategic destination that assures unique experiences in Umbria, including wellness trails, outdoor activities in nature and a sublime gourmet experience.
Activities, initiatives, food and wine tastings and customised tours to discover the area, carefully selected by our staff, are available upon reservation.
The relais is located not far from some of the region’s most picturesque sites, from Assisi to Spello, from Città della Pieve to the enchanting village of Panicale, a true natural terrace offering marvellous views of Lake Trasimeno and the hills interwoven with vineyards and centuries-old olive trees.
Not to be missed is a tour of discovery of Perugia, which is only about thirty kilometres away: in the mosaic of monuments, visit the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, built from 1345 onwards in an intriguing Gothic style, the thirteenth-century Fontana Maggiore and Palazzo dei Priori, home to the National Gallery of Umbria and one of the most majestic art collections in central Italy. The experience in Perugia cannot be said to be complete without visiting the Perugina Chocolate House and being tempted by the irresistible aromas of its delicacies.
Depending on the season, private or group classes are organised with professional yoga instructors, which take place outside, in our Yoga Garden, or inside, in a dedicated room.
Among the most popular experiences in all seasons of the year, the relais offers the exclusive Oro Verde (Green Gold) tour, which includes a visit to the local oil mills with a tasting of ‘Colli del Trasimeno’ D.O.P. EVO oil accompanied by tasty regional products.
Popular in the autumn is the fun truffle hunt with local guides in the estate’s woods, while in the summer and spring there are numerous outdoor sports activities on offer, such as e-bike tours (which can be hired at the hotel), trekking or horseback riding along the shores of Lake Trasimeno.
